Week 2: markets, hospital and my room

Hello!
Now after putting it online, I realise that pink text on grey background is not the ideal combination ..
Anyway, here are the texts again, in order for you to be able to read it anyway.

Comments and feedback are - as usual - very welcome!

Start from scratch!

After arriving I felt like a baby that has to learn everything from scratch .... Not even busdriving was possible on my own!

I did it together with some friends who know their way through the city very well, and it ended up being a funny thing. Plus very cheap, a ride of 10km costs about 50 cents!

With the bus to the markets:

Generally speaking, you can shop whatever you need wherever you just are. But there are of course just as well huge shopping malls and the famous markets like the Silk Market. A good place to buy cheap faked brands and bargain, but also very loud and stressfull.

And then there is Fu Zhuang Shi Chang!

My favourite market is the Fu Zhuang Shi Chang in the Wudaokou district. It's a mainly korean market, very relaxed. You rarely find fakes, but everything else.

Plus the funniest t-shirts in the whole world!

Yeah, shop until you drop ..

... One could think I took that a bit too serious and therefore ended up at the hospital .. But that wasn't the case, I actually cought a viral infection on my finger.

Too bad the nurse wouldn't let my friend Carlo film the surgery, but at least I managed to get some shots of the hospital itself

Very, VERY not funny

I was probably a bit too interested in the Chinese Medicine. So much, that destiny must have thought "ok, she really seems to wanna know how that works. Let's give her a chance to try it out!"
Woohooo. That chance came in form of a completely fucked up finger. Being very nervous before coming to China, I bit my cuticles. Very much, until I was bleeding. It didn't hurt, and since I usually carry handsanitizer around and use it frantically, I didn't care any further. It was not the first time for this to happen, and come on, as a kid I sometimes didn't wash my hands for days
Well, this time I don't seem to get away with it. Must have cought a nasty virus or something, at least my right middle finger looks like that now:

Anyway, thank you destiny that you didn't pick my lungs or my brain for me to test the Chinese medicine .. (lungs will soon be f*** too, because of the bad air here!)

I'll go to the hospital tomorrow, and eventually find out all I wanted to know about Chinese Medicine ...
Bloody hell. Nobody notices my beautiful done manicure like that! Not funny at all. Plus, also not funny that they keep mixing meet under my Tofu. I know that because I bit on a piece of bone. Very unlikely in a piece of Tofu ... at least my teeth stayed in place. But the same thing happened the other day, when I ate a bit of an omelette-like thing. Piece of bone right in there! I wanted to scream and run away, it was so groooooooooooooose!

You know, you can ask for vegetarian, even ask in Chinese, and even use the right words AND tones, but you still get everything mixed together! They just don't pay attention. Or don't care? But at the same time, you are not allowed to swim in a normal swimming pool without having done a test! It's not like you have any possibility to drown anyway, cause there are a million lifesafers patroulling around the pool! But no, still you have to take the test.

I wish they cared more about removing the bones out of food that shouldn't contain any bones, instead of keeping super-safe regulations for the swimming pool.
I am back to eating very cautiously, only rice and beans. And am in a BAD mood about it. Nargh! I wan't Kaiserschmarrn!

Preparation and arrival in China

Hey guys, the first video is done. It's pretty much what I wanted, except one thing:
In the first section, there's a part missing. The explanation for the Asterix & Obelix movie ... in fact, what Asterix & Obelix are going through, is pretty much the same as I had to do to get to China.
Administration processes are incredibly difficult, nobody is in charge, nobody is reachable, unless you know somebody who knows the right person, and then - in a blink of an eye, everyting is just done.
So, knowing that, I hope you can enjoy the video. Have fun!
